The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house having a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research at more info a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
